Neurodivergent-specific counselling

Counselling shaped around you

Whether you are formally diagnosed or self-identify as neurodivergent, Hazelwood offers counselling that is thoughtfully adapted for you. Sessions are shaped around how you communicate, process information, and experience the world, with practical adjustments so therapy feels accessible and supportive rather than expecting you to fit a standard model.

Our work is neurodivergent-affirming. This means we focus on understanding, accommodating, and supporting your authentic self, rather than trying to change or “fix” neurodivergent traits. Counselling may include making sense of a diagnosis, understanding long-standing experiences, or exploring how neurodivergence affects everyday life, relationships, or work.

Our counsellors bring both Hazelwood’s relational approach and specialist training in working with neurodivergent clients. This reduces the need to explain or justify how you think, feel, or communicate, allowing sessions to move at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

We draw on talking therapy, CBT-informed skills, psychoeducation, visual tools, and flexible communication to develop practical strategies that support confidence, coping, and daily life.
