Overcoming Anxiety

When your mind and body won’t settle
Feeling anxious from time to time is part of being human. Many of us worry about work, relationships, parenting, health, or whether we are coping well enough. In themselves, these worries are normal and understandable.
Anxiety can become more difficult when it feels constant or overwhelming. You might notice a sense of being on edge, difficulty sleeping, a churning stomach, tension in your body, or finding yourself avoiding people or situations that increase anxiety. What may have started as a natural concern can begin to feel as though it is taking control of your life.
Prolonged anxiety can affect your emotional wellbeing, your physical health, and your sense of stability. It can be exhausting and isolating to live in a state of constant alert.
Counselling offers a space to slow things down and make sense of what is happening. With the support of a skilled counsellor, you can explore what sits beneath your anxiety and develop ways of responding to it with greater steadiness and confidence.
